Angels Away Program and Common Burial

Angels Away is a perinatal loss program offered through the Spiritual Care department as a community service of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System for families whose babies have died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal demise, neonatal death or ectopic pregnancy. The goal of the program is to help parents and family members adjust to the loss of the baby through a healthy grieving process. The program is designed to strengthen families through counseling, a spiritually-based support group and information. There is no cost to participate. Angels Away offers several forms of support:

  • Support group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Alamo Heights, 403 Treeline Park, San Antonio, Texas 78209, 210.294.8000 in the 2nd floor Conference Room

  • Prayer services are planned for special needs. Family members and friends of all faiths are welcome.

Common Burial

In partnership with San Fernando Cemetery, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa provides a Common Burial at no charge to families whose babies are born under 20 weeks gestation. The Common Burial service is held on the second Friday of each moth at 11:00 a.m. at San Fernando Cemetery #2, located at General McMullen and Castroville Road 210.432.2303.
