Our Services

The Children’s Heart Program

The Children’s Heart Program at our Children’s Hospital is the most comprehensive program of its kind in San Antonio. Patients referred to the Children’s Heart Program receive care at one of the most sophisticated pediatric facilities in the country, as well as the most extensive ICU in South Texas. Some of our specialized features include:

• Dedicated medical and surgical intensive care units.
• Dedicated neonatal and pediatric teams available 24 hours a day to transport critically ill newborns and children.
• A state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab specially designed for children.
• Expert coordination with highly skilled Neonatal Intensive Care and other pediatric units.

The professionals of the Congenital Heart Institute, who make up the Children’s Heart Program, offer the unique combination of extensive practical experience, research and teaching. Our surgeons provide the most advanced therapeutic options for the treatment of congenital and other pediatric heart conditions for children with even the most complex cardiac problems.
