Children’s Sleep Center
Sleep problems are very common in children. Approximately 25 percent of all children have sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, periodic limb movements and bedtime problems which can vary in severity and cause potential lifetime consequences.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital and UTHSCSA’s Division of Pediatric Pulmonology are launching unprecedented diagnostic and treatment possibilities for children in South Texas with sleep disorders. The hospital is opening its new children’s sleep center, which will be the only sleep center dedicated to the care of children in San Antonio. The sleep center will offer overnight sleep testing and multiple sleep latency testing. Dr. Karen Hentschel-Franks will serve as medical director.
We are currently screening and evaluating patients in the David Christopher Goldsbury Center for Children and Families at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital. To refer or for more information please call 210.704.4505.
