Your Rights as a Patient
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care’s mission is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. We function under a code of ethical behavior and are committed to providing the highest quality of health care within our capabilities.
Our faith-based values maintain that we respect people’s uniqueness and dignity as Children of God, understanding people's needs throughout the healing process. Our caregivers are committed to family-centered care and to supporting the rights and responsibilities of the children and families we serve. As the parent or guardian of a child at CSRCH, please know that your child has the following rights:
Adequate, appropriate, compassionate care:
- Appropriate and compassionate care at all times.
- Receive care that supports you and your child’s emotional, educational and developmental needs.
- Not to be discriminated against on the basis of your race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, handicap, marital status, sexual preference or source of payment.
- Register a complaint concerning any aspect of your child’s stay or care and receive due follow-up. Staff members are here to assist in the response and resolution to your complaint. If you have a concern, contact your caregiver, their supervisors, a patient representative or the hospital administrator.
- Expect reasonable safety insofar as the hospital’s practices and environment are concerned.
- Expect emergency procedures to be carried out without unnecessary delay.
- If you or your child does not speak the predominant language of the community, you will have access to an interpreter.
- Request assistance for you or your child from a Child Life Specialist, pastoral care representative or other specialist.
Staff identification: You may expect that the people caring for your child will be wearing a name tag and introduce themselves and explain their roles in your child's care.
