Our Services
Pediatric Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit
The Pediatric Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a 29-bed, state-of-the-art unit offering comprehensive services to children. Our care is offered to critically ill infants, children and adolescents suffering from a wide range of diagnoses including, but not limited to, respiratory diseases, congenital heart disorders, and neurosurgical conditions. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by in-house pediatric intensivists, as well as multiple pediatric residents, highly trained nurses and respiratory therapists. Private physicians and surgeons work in conjunction with academic pediatric specialists from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to assure the highest quality care.
