Research Approval Process
Upon receipt of the Research Protocol by the CHRISTUS Research Projects Office, the Research Coordinator will review the protocol for completeness. The protocol will be distributed to the Directors and Managers affected by the research.
Managers and Directors will review protocols to determined required institutional support and the terms for implementation. Support services include radiology, laboratory, pathology, and pharmacy, when necessary. Reviewers have 7 working days in which to review a protocol.
Upon identification of research-related charges, Admitting and Patient Financial Services will be notified by the Research Projects Office for client account set up. Investigators and their staff will be responsible for notifying Admitting upon enrollment of a research subject. Letters will be provided to researchers and reviewers indicating approval or non-approval.
