Special Programs
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Rehabilitation Hospital has several unique programs available to help patients recover as quickly as possible.
Easy Street. This program was designed to help patients in the transition from a rehabilitation environment to a community environment.
On Easy Street, patients work with their rehabilitation team to learn activities of daily living in a real-world environment that includes a restaurant, a market, a communications center, a street, a car, a bus stop and an ATM banking center.
On Easy Street, patients in wheelchairs, with canes, walkers or prostheses can practice getting in and out of a car, learn how to safely go up and down a curb or go shopping in a grocery store.
Easy Street is designed for patients who have had a stroke, a spinal cord injury, arthritis or any injury resulting in a neurological or orthopedic disability.
Rehabilitation garden. The garden is designed with raised flower beds and special gardening tools for teaching proper body mechanics. The garden is used to work on increasing endurance, reaching, walking, strengthening, using a wheelchair, decision making and stimulating the senses.
