Liver Treatment Program
About Liver Disease
Liver Disease is a generic term that refers to any of a group of disorders that cause the liver to function improperly or cease functioning altogether. The most serious diseases in this group are cirrhosis, cholestasis (bile production problems) and hepatitis.
It is very important to see your doctor if you suspect you may have a liver problem. When diagnosing liver disease, you doctor will inquire about your medical history and symptoms you’ve been experiencing. Your doctor may also ask about your diet, personal hygiene habits, recent trips abroad, drug and alcohol use. The answers to these questions, in conjunction with a thorough physical exam, can help your doctor make an acute diagnosis and plan an appropriate course of treatment.
The Liver Disease Center at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center (CSRH-MC) offers state-of-the-art diagnostic services and treatments for liver diseases and the full spectrum of abdominal problems.
