Political Advocacy and Public Policy
At CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care, a key part of our mission and vision is to advocate on behalf of the community and families we serve.
Therefore our Department of Advocacy and Public Policy strives to increase access to health care for the poor and underserved through advocacy and other initiatives.
One of the most effective ways to accomplish our mission is legislative advocacy. This includes:
- Direct education—talking with elected officials about issues that affect health care in our community and the families we serve.
- Communicating with the media—responding to requests for information about health care and providing story ideas about legislative issues that will impact our community.
- Grassroots advocacy—mobilizing people who care about health issues to influence policies that concern them.
