Advanced Surgical Innovation
Dr. Joseph is at the forefront of the tissue-sparing movement in orthopedics.
By utilizing the Anterior Based Muscle Sparing approach for hip replacement, he accesses the joint through natural muscle intervals, avoiding the need to cut major muscle groups.
This approach results in less postoperative pain and a lower risk of dislocation.
For knee replacements, he employs robotic-assisted technology using 3D virtual mapping to tailor surgery to each patient’s anatomy.
These innovations support his 90% same-day discharge rate, allowing recovery to begin at home.
Research, Clinical Insight, and Thought Leadership
Dr. Joseph’s academic background is rooted in the study of healthcare value.
His research, published in journals such as Arthroplasty Today, focuses on the economic and clinical outcomes of complex revision surgeries.
By studying the direct costs of prosthetic joint infections and preoperative care, he helps advance more effective, evidence-based treatment models.
His thought leadership ensures East Texas patients benefit from the same protocols used at top-tier academic institutions.
Commitment to Public Health and Health Equity
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Joseph is deeply committed to community wellness.
During his residency at Vanderbilt, he participated in Orthopaedics Outreach Day, providing free surgical care to uninsured patients.
In Longview, he remains an advocate for health literacy, frequently contributing to the CHRISTUS Your Health series with insights on topics such as when you should start worrying about knee pain and understanding pain after knee replacement.
He is dedicated to ensuring every resident of East Texas understands how to protect joint health and when to seek advanced care.
